Our Course

Mount Pleasant Golf Club opened for play in 1992 and is situated amid beautiful Bedfordshire countryside in the village of Lower Stondon, just a short drive from Hitchin. The course has established a reputation for its excellent condition and presentation. It is a very attractive 18-hole golf course, offering a golfing challenge of nearly 6,000 yards with a par of 70. The layout is always immaculately presented and incorporates an abundance of natural features. With lush green fairways, manicured greens and strategically placed bunkers, the course has been designed to provide an interesting challenge, both as a fair test of golf to established players, and a not too intimidating experience for enthusiastic beginners to the game.

The course is a mix of two halves, the original 9 holes play as a traditional parkland course with treelined fairways requiring accuracy off the tee. Whereas the newly built 9 holes play as an inland links course with undulating fairways and fast sloping greens that can be demanding on your short game.

The par 3 7th hole is our signature hole, playing 154 yards over water, it challenges all levels of golfing ability. Our modern timber framed clubhouse is the perfect place to sit back and relax after your round whilst overlooking the 18th green.
